A fantastic 19th Century gilt bronze frame with blue moire fabric and a variety of classical ormolu mounted decorations. Frame is in wonderful condition with no stains or damages. Without counting the wreath decoration on the top the frame itself measures approximately 13 inches high by 10 and 3/4 inches wide. The delicate blue front fabric is decorated with gilt putti carrying flowers and decorations, Grecian style maidens carrying fruit and ribbons and two Griffons flanking the bottom corners. Top and bottom centers are decorated with a leaf and flower scroll design. A beautiful piece of work.
