These solid silver hefty goblets or awards came from the estate of a member of The Thoroughbred Racing Association. They are commemorating the race of the year for 1978 which was the Belmont Stakes which Affirmed won. The race was a battle between Affirmed and Alydar which makes it a classic to this day. Check it out on YouTube, worth the watch. Affirmed cinched the Triple Crown in 1978 with this Belmont Stakes win. Cups were made in London in 1978.
