A lovely, well crafted malachite box. This box was finished with a higher level of detail than is seen in other boxes of it's type. The lid was not created from a separate piece. The pattern on the sides of the box are continued through the lid sides as you can see in the photos below when the box is slightly opened. Every edge is beveled although that fine detail is hard to see in the photos. The interior of the box is lined with a black stone which I believe is onyx. Finally the box was given a felt bottom. Box measures 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 x 1 1/4. A very nicely executed piece.
