Cartier. A fine and unusual 18K gold and enamel miniature travel clock. Measuring 42mm tall without the crown, this jewel from about 1930 is truly a rare and wonderful thing. the crown acts both as a winder and as a release for the spring loaded doors. These "Altar" clocks, original vintage mechanical ones from the correct period only show up about once a year at auction, usually overseas at Sotheby's or Christie's. Tested and running well, this little gem would be the shining star of any collection.
