Antique German 800 Silver Clock
Interesting clock that looks like a miniature of something that would be in an old European town square. 800 German silver and some sort of blue stone. Blue columns support a round antique clock being presented by mermaids on either side. Just tested, clock does wind and run but wasn't tested for accuracy. Four silver lion paw feet crested with what appear to be acanthus leaves support the silver platform holding everything. A silver ornate grill sits in front of the base of the two columns. One end of the fence is not secured with a bolt at the bottom but it can't be seen or noticed unless you attempt to pull it apart. Marked on the bottom with the German crescent moon and crown mark as well as the 800 for silver content. There is also a round flower like mark which could be a maker's mark for Bruckmann & Sohne. Great looking little clock.

Gold standards in most countries are 10k, 14k, 18k and 22k.
These are averages and while a piece may be marked 14k please be aware that the
gold content itself could have a variance of up to 1.5k. This means something
marked 14k could be in a range from 12.5k to 15.5k. This is especially
true of vintage pieces as technology wasn't as precise. With gemstones, we
guarantee everything described as a diamond has been tested. With colored
gemstones however, particularly when small secondary stones, we make our best
efforts to be accurate in the description but there could be some variance as
to what the stone is. Colored stones of nominal value and semi-precious
stones can't be accurately tested unless sent to an organization such as
GIA. If you have any concerns about colored stones in a specific piece,
please contact us before bidding.
